Maintaining a healthy, strong brain for schoolwork and studying requires a healthy body.

According to a PositScience article, working out benefits the brain: “The benefits of physical exercise, especially aerobic exercise, have positive effects on brain function on multiple fronts, ranging from the molecular to behavioral level. According to a study done by the Department of Exercise Science at the University of Georgia, even briefly exercising for 20 minutes facilitates information processing and memory functions.”

If you’re a Denver Public Schools student, you don’t have to pay to keep your brain and body fit because the new My Denver Card program allows you free access to all of Denver’s parks and recreation centers.

Students in grades 6-12 who have a “My Denver Card” and Denver Public Schools student ID can get free access to all Denver Parks and Recreation centers and use their IDs to check out books and materials and access all services offered by Denver Public Libraries.

So go out there and get healthy! For the registration form, click here.
