More scholarships for a cause

Some scholarships are based on essays, some based on grades, others on volunteer work. These scholarships from DoSomething.org are all based on what you’ll do for another person or a cause to enter to win. And they all have deadlines coming up in the next few months.

$4,000 Everyone Deserves a Birthday Scholarship

“Make a homemade birthday card for a child experiencing homelessness and you’ll be entered to win the $4,000 Everyone Deserves a Birthday scholarship. 1 in 3 homeless people in the US is under the age of 18 and unfortunately many of them cannot afford to have a birthday. No one should have to miss their birthday, so we’re asking young people across the country to come together to create birthday cards for homeless children. Create a birthday card and mail it to a homeless shelter and you’ll automatically enter to win a $4,000 scholarship. Every 2 cards after that enters you for an additional chance to win. No minimum GPA or essays required.”

$4,000 School Lunch Scholarship

“Snap a picture of your school lunch, upload it, and you’ll automatically be entered to win a $4,000 scholarship.

21 million students a year rely on school lunch as their primary source of energy, but the average school lunch packs in more fat and sodium than a person should eat in a full day. We’re asking people across the country to take a picture of their school lunch, answer 10 multiple choice questions, and shed light on what’s really in cafeteria food.
