Mayor Hancock wants your advice

If you are a Denver teen between the ages of 14 and 16 and are interested in local government and issues impacting youth, consider applying to serve on The Mayor’s Youth Commission! The application deadline is Friday, May 30, 2014.

The Mayor’s Youth Commission is an exciting leadership opportunity for young Denver residents and adults to be involved in their community. The Commission advises the Mayor and his Cabinet, along with the Denver City Council, on issues that affect Denver youth. The Commission identifies annual goals and implement action plans designed to positively impact their peers.

There are currently 4 open seats for teens (and 6 adult seats). Because the Commission makes all attempts to only have one youth Commissioner for any given school, the Commission will NOT be accepting applications from students at the following schools: Bear Creek High School, CEC Middle College of Denver, George Washington High School, Littleton High School, Manual High School, South High School, Thomas Jefferson High School and Venture Prep High School.
