Help out the elderly this summer

Help out the elderly this summer

If you’re looking for some meaningful volunteer work helping those who can’t normally get help, you might check out A Little Help’s Teen Team this summer.

The country is fast aging because of the large number of Baby Boomers who are getting older and they are in need of help around the house with yard tasks, technology, a listening ear and a smiling face. It’s a good way to get outside for a good cause.

“A Little Help emphasizes intergenerational connection by planning an array of social and educational activities to the combat isolation often felt in aging and adolescence. Our newest program is the Teen Team. This team was organized to help pair teens with senior mentors who can share their experience, wisdom, wealth of stories, and love of life with high school students… The Teen Team members can also participate in our twice yearly Service Saturdays! and fulfill community service hours while forming a meaningful bond with older adults.” — A Little Help website
