Denver: Be an after-school tutor

If you want to make a difference in the lives of Denver kids, check out these paid tutoring opportunities from Summer Scholars.

Summer Scholars is a  nonprofit organization focused on helping elementary schools students increase their academic performance, improve their reading level and build life skills.

Summer Scholars is currently seeking area high school students (age 15 and older) who are interested in working in their 2013-14 “Scholars After School” tutoring program. As either an Assistant Tutor or ECE Assistant Instructor, you would work two to four days a week, with program times varying from 2:45 or 3:30 p.m.-5:45 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. in an elementary school within Denver Public Schools.

The position pays $7.78 per hour. The application deadline for the Scholars After School Program is Aug. 23.

Applications are also accepted from time to time throughout the school year.
