A place for artists to thrive

If you’re looking for a place to toot your horn and be recognized for your creative abilities, check out this opportunity to apply for the National Young Arts Foundation.

YoungArts attempts to provide emerging artists ages 15-18 or in grades 10-12 with opportunities to support a career in the arts through experiences with renowned mentors, access to significant scholarships (up to a $10,000 award) and national recognition. Teens in cinematic arts, dance, design, jazz, music, photography, theater, visual arts, voice and writing are sought for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

“To date, YoungArts has honored more than 17,000 young artists with over $6 million in monetary awards; facilitated in excess of $150 million in college scholarship opportunities.” Young artists have had the chance to work with such greats as Mikhail Baryshnikov, Jacques d’Amboise, Plácido Domingo, Bill T. Jones, Quincy Jones and Martin Scorsese. YoungArts serves as the exclusive nominating agency for the U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts.

The deadline to apply is Oct. 18.
